eBay Buys Part of AutoTrader.com

Online auction house eBay, San Jose, CA, said Tuesday that it has acquired a stake in AutoTrader.com.


The companies will form a large online marketplace for used cars using eBay's base of 10 million buyers and sellers and AutoTrader.com's 5 million monthly visitors as a base market. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.


The companies' site, www.ebay-autotrader.com, will be accessible on AutoTrader.com's Web site.
