eBags Strikes Deal with United Airlines

eBags, an online luggage and accessories retailer, said yesterday that it will be a featured partner at United Airlines' Web site.

While United doesn't give prominent play to its partners on its site's front page, viewers can reach a co-branded site by clicking the "partners" channel and then clicking a link for the retailer.

The two firms are offering 250 United frequent flyer miles with every purchase of more than $50 at the site as a co-branded promotion.

eBags, Denver, will include coupons and other promos in United's frequent flyer statements, which are mailed out on a monthly basis. United, Chicago, will also include the retailer in some of its e-mail campaigns.

eBags is in negotiations with other major airlines to form similar partnerships, said Peter Cobb, vice president of marketing and co-founder of the firm.

Financial terms of the eBags-United deal were not disclosed.
