News Byte: IBM Debuts 'Smarter Commerce' Ecosystem

At its PartnerWorld conference yesterday, IBM unveiled the Ready for Smarter Commerce program, which it describes as an ecosystem that gives clients access to prebuilt partner solutions that integrate with mobile, social, and cloud-based tools.

Among IBM partners already on board are Invodo,whose solution helps retailers deploy video content and measure results, and Shoutlet, which helps marketers measure the impact of social media programs. Smarter Commerce solutions are designed to be used in concert with existing platforms such as IBM Commerce and IBM Digital Marketing Optimization.

“Our clients can now leverage our capabilities in tandem with IBM's marketing platforms to gain greater control over their social media campaigns,” Aaron Everson, president and chief strategy officer of Shoutlet said in a statement. “In addition to streamlining how each social campaign is managed, this deep level of integration gives clients access to IBM's digital analytics.”

IBM said it expects to load the new ecosystem with 150 solutions by year's end.
