The Hazelden Foundation has picked !hey Inc. to provide it with online customer sales and service support with its live text-chat technology, the two companies said yesterday.


Visitors to the Hazelden Foundation Web site can click on a button that creates a text-chat window for communicating with a Hazelden service representative.


The Hazelden Foundation, Center City, MN, provides prevention, treatment and recovery programs and publications for those affected by alcoholism and chemical dependency. The technology allows consumers shopping online for Hazelden self-help books, videos and gifts to immediately access a representative who can answer their questions.


The foundation said the number of return visitors to its Web site, www.hazelden.org, has increased since it implemented the !hey text-chat feature.


!hey, North Andover, MA, is a customer relationship management firm that uses technology to allow customer interaction online.
