Dress Barn brand in e-commerce debut

Dress Barn Inc., which owns women's apparel chains Dressbarn and Maurices, signed a multi-year agreement with GSI Commerce.

GSI will provide e-commerce technology, fulfillment and design services to the Maurices brand, which has never before had an online retail platform. The e-commerce site will launch in the fall.

“GSI has a terrific reputation in the industry for providing leading e-commerce services to large, national retailers,” said David Jaffe, president and CEO of Dress Barn Inc. in a statement.

To date, the Dressbarn chain does not have an online retail platform. Maurices has 697 stores in 44 states, and Dress Barn has 834 stores in 46 states.

Dress Barn declined further comment.
