DoubleClick's MediaMatch Service Boasts 85 Clients

DoubleClick Inc.'s MediaMatch service now has 85 clients and has signed 72 new Web sites since August, the company said yesterday.

The service also is now available to all sites using third-party ad serving systems.

MediaMatch, an online advertising exchange that lets Web site publishers buy media using unsold ad inventory, accepts rich media and standard GIF ads, DoubleClick said. Clients can send up to 13 different creatives and can change the creative and volume placements once a day.

Sites participating in the MediaMatch service include ABCradio.com, CNN Interactive, Edgar Online and BabyCenter.com. DoubleClick said MediaMatch is running several hundred million monthly impressions.

DoubleClick, New York, also said yesterday that it expanded its internal privacy team and announced new appointments in the United States and Europe.

Nuala O'Connor has been promoted to vice president of data protection and chief privacy officer for e-mail and emerging technologies in the United States. O'Connor previously was deputy general counsel for privacy at DoubleClick. She will now focus on developing consumer information policies for e-mail and new products.

In addition, the company said Elise Berkower, formerly director of adjudication at the New York City Department of Consumer Affairs, has been named privacy compliance officer. Tom Kordich has been named director of privacy technology.

In Europe, Amanda Chandler, formerly the compliance manager for the police and criminal justice sector of the data protection commissioner in the United Kingdom, was named DoubleClick's chief privacy officer and director of privacy protection for Europe.
