Donnelley to Deliver for LaSalle Bank

LaSalle Bank awarded a second five-year contract to Donnelley Logistics to provide same-day delivery of check deposits and mail processing among the bank's 140 branches in the Chicago area and three operating sites, Donnelley said yesterday.

Financial details of the contract were not disclosed. Donnelley first received a five-year contract from LaSalle Bank, which has $58 billion in assets, in 1998.

Donnelley is also developing new technology systems for LaSalle Bank, including a barcode scanner system that provides couriers with radio frequency and remote barcode scanners. Couriers do scans at the pickup and delivery sites and download the data into Donnelley's management system, enabling LaSalle Bank to track the movement of deliveries among branches.
