Donnelley Opens Detroit Center, Relocates Texas Sorting Facility

Donnelley Logistics, a mail fulfillment arm for R.R. Donnelley & Sons Co., recently opened a sorting facility in Detroit and announced plans to relocate its Dallas operation.

The Dallas facility, previously located in nearby Garland, TX, will be moved to another suburb of that city to improve its efficiency, said Linda Carlisle, spokeswoman for Donnelley, Chicago.

Carlisle said both centers will process various literature and packages, then route the items to a nearby U.S. Postal Service station or another sorting facility. American Package Express, Irvine, CA, which has partnered with Donnelley at three other U.S. locations, will handle transportation for the facilities.

Donnelley can deliver to 8,134 ZIP codes. The company said the new locations would improve its postage costs per package and produce more favorable fuel costs.
