Donnelley Logistics Buys Momentum

R.R. Donnelley Logistics purchased package distribution provider Momentum Logistics Inc. for $17 million, Donnelley Logistics said yesterday.

Momentum, Jacksonville, FL, has been a regional service provider for Donnelley Logistics for three years. The company provides distribution services in the Southeast and generates $60 million in revenue annually.

Momentum lets Donnelley Logistics expand its capabilities in the Southeast with next-day business-to-business delivery and direct delivery to local post offices. Donnelley Logistics obtains a new fleet of vehicles in the acquisition as well as direct access to hundreds of U.S. Postal Service local entry points in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina.

In addition to package delivery, Donnelley Logistics will call on Momentum's expertise to increase efficiency and control in its catalog, retail and magazine print delivery services.

Donnelley will provide Momentum customers access to its national delivery network, including new services, and the benefit of Donnelley Logistics' end-to-end tracking and performance reporting systems, the companies said. Donnelley Logistics also will expand Momentum's reach to the north with the opening of a new logistics "supercenter" in York, PA, later this year.
