Donnelley Expands Printing Plants

R.R. Donnelley announced expansions to its plants in Lancaster, PA, and Spartanburg, SC, as part of a $250 million capital growth plan for 2003.


The Spartanburg plant will get a 150,000-square-foot addition, two new wide-web gravure presses and other equipment for use in the production of magazines, catalogs and retail inserts.


The Lancaster plant will receive a 140,000-square-foot addition, a new wide-web gravure press and other equipment, to be used in the printing of magazines, catalogs, retail inserts, telephone directories and financial products.


The expansion is aimed at reducing cycle times and providing for greater flexibility and targeting capabilities, Donnelley said.
