DNC List in Oregon Exceeds 46,000

More than 46,000 Oregonians have signed up for the state's do-not-call list, the Oregon Department of Justice said.

The department is responsible for maintaining the list. Since the list went into effect in 1999, more than 60 companies have been fined a total of $200,000 for violations. Oregon charges consumers $6.50 to register for the DNC list and an annual $3 renewal fee.

There are more than 1.4 million households in Oregon, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
