DMEF Honors Lester Wunderman and Agency

The Direct Marketing Educational Foundation on May 25 will honor Lester Wunderman and the self-named agency he founded and then sold to Young & Rubicam for service to the industry.

Awarded during the Direct Marketing Days New York conference, the Direct Marketing Association-run foundation will give Wunderman the DMEF Vision Award for his creative and pioneering vision within the industry.

Wunderman is credited with coining the term "direct marketing" and popularizing bind-in cards, subscription-based consumer products and the gold box record clubs.

His agency gets the DMEF Corporate Leadership Award for contributions to direct and interactive marketing education.
