DMEF Appoints Draft Chicago

The Direct Marketing Educational Foundation, an outfit in the Direct Marketing Association family, asked Draft Chicago to serve as its pro bono ad agency of record.

Draft Chicago is charged with projects like the foundation's new planned-giving campaign, renewal series and an autumn fundraising mailing. Advertising previously was handled in-house. Sid Liebenson, executive vice president and director of marketing at Draft Chicago, is in charge of the account.

The news follows a decision by the foundation's trustees and staff to start the next phase of a new strategy for the entity. This entails more marketing to professors, better integration with the DMA, the DMEF Auction for Education and cost-cutting measures.

This is the foundation's first volunteer agency of record since 1985, when Stone & Adler created a fundraising mail campaign that won an Echo award.
