The Direct Marketing Association on April 22 asked marketers to join its “Recycle Please” global campaign and take its “Green 15” Pledge in honor of Earth Day 2010.

DMA's “Recycle Please” campaign is a public education program that encourages DMA members to display the “Recycle Please” logo in their catalogs and direct mail. The campaign was developed by DMA's Committee on Environmental and Social Responsibility. More than 100 companies and nonprofit organizations currently use the “Recycle Please” logo, DMA said.

The Committee on Environmental and Social Responsibility also developed the “Green 15” Pledge program, which asks marketers to take steps to improve their environmental footprint.

“Our ‘Green 15' Pledge and ‘Recycle Please' programs provide marketers with the means to participate in helping the environment,” said Senny Boone, senior VP of corporate & social responsibility at DMA, in a statement.  “We urge everyone to participate — not just on Earth Day, but every day. Please help us showcase the power of direct, spreading the message and stimulating paper recycling and recovery across the globe by taking the pledge and reminding consumers about the value of recycling.”
