DMA Selects Schultz as 2002 List Leader

The Direct Marketing Association's List & Database Council today named Ray Schultz, editorial director of Direct magazine, as the 2002 List Leader of the Year.


Schultz will receive the award at an Aug. 26 banquet at The Manhattan Penthouse in New York, preceding the DMA's List Vision 2002 conference at the Waldorf Astoria on Aug. 27.


Schultz began covering the direct marketing industry at DM News in 1981 and was named editor in 1986. He joined Direct in 1994 and serves on the advisory board of the National Center for Database Marketing conferences.


Last year's List Leader, Ben Perez, president of Millard Group Inc., Peterborough, NH, will present the award to Schultz.


The award is given to a list professional with a minimum of 10 years in the list industry. The recipient must also be active in one or more of the following list-related areas: ethics, education, list practices and standards, privacy issues, postal reform, communication or environmental concerns.
