*DMA Selects Kurtz as List Leader of the Year
"It's a great honor," Kurtz said. "There is nothing better than being recognized by your peers."
Kurtz began his career at Boardroom Inc. -- which publishes newsletters about business, healthcare and retirement and runs a mail-order book business -- in 1981 as an assistant in its inhouse list management department. In recent years, he has been credited with helping Boardroom achieve yearly revenues of more than $90 million.
In February, Kurtz was inducted into the DMA's Circulation Hall of Fame for his work at Boardroom Inc.
"The circulation award was more of a surprise because I've always seen myself as a list guy," said Kurtz. "I'm very proud of my contributions to the list business."
The List Leader of the Year award is given to a list professional with a minimum of 10 years in the list industry. The recipient must also be active in one or more of the following list-related areas: ethics, education, list practices and standards, privacy issues, postal reform, communication or environmental concerns.
