DMA ARM Council Changes Name To Insert Media

RYE BROOK, NY -- The Direct Marketing Association Alternate Response Media Council officially changed its name today to the DMA Insert Media Council.

The announcement will be made this morning at the first DMA Insert Day Conference & Exhibition here at the Hilton Rye Town.

The council embarked on a sort of rebranding effort for the alternative media industry last October at the fall DMA show. It held an open forum to muster support for changing the catch-all name for package inserts, bind-ins, blow-ins and statement stuffers from alternative media to something signifying that these marketing practices are not "alternative" but mainstream.

Today's conference opens with a general session panel discussion and includes sessions on topics led by insert media professionals from companies such as 1-800-Flowers, Bookspan, Rodale, GEICO, Gerber, Norm Thompson and Oreck.
