DM News Makes Top 100 Trade Pub List for '04

DM News ranks No. 60 in the nation's top 100 trade publications in terms of 2004 revenues, according to a special report published in BtoB magazine in March.


DM News is the only direct, database, online or Internet marketing title listed in the top 100 roster. Other marketing-related titles on the list include Broadcasting and Cable, ranked No. 65, and Brandweek, ranked No. 74. Only Advertising Age, at No. 27, was ranked ahead of DM News in the overall marketing sector.


BtoB's estimates of revenues and ad pages for its Top 100 trade publications reflect that ad pages for most "trades" have not returned to their pre-recession levels of 1999 and 2000.


The tight ad market for business magazines was highlighted by the recent closing of two of Primedia's remaining DM titles, Catalog Age and Operations & Fulfillment, and the announcement that their respective target audiences and editorial scopes would be combined to create a new title called Multichannel Merchant.
