DM Institute Opens With Gift From Infocision Chairman

The University of Akron (OH) will hold a ceremony today to dedicate a direct marketing school funded by Gary Taylor, chairman of Infocision Management Corp.


Taylor gave $1.5 million to open the Gary L. and Karen S. Taylor Institute for Direct Marketing at the university's College of Business Administration. Taylor is the founder of Akron-based Infocision, a telephone marketing agency. He received his bachelor's and master's degrees at the University of Akron.


The institute will focus on creative development, database marketing, fulfillment, multimedia marketing and call centers. It will teach subjects such as call-center management, script writing, mail and product fulfillment as well as offer hands-on experience.
