DM Headhunter Robinson Dies at 71

Longtime headhunter to the direct marketing industry Louin P. Robinson of Alto, NM, died May 5. He was 71.

Memorial services were held May 8 at LaGrone Funeral Chapel in Ruidoso, NM.

"Louin was a low-key person," said Don Pelley, a friend and direct marketing colleague for more than 35 years. "I used to kid him as being the only person I knew who went to DMA conferences carrying his own personal potted palm to duck behind for private conversations. He kept a very low profile for professional reasons, but was an inordinately human guy from a personal point of view."

Upon the request of Robinson's family, memorials to the Louin P. Robinson Scholarship Fund may be sent in care of Pioneer Bank, P.O. Box 910, Ruidoso, NM 88355.

He is survived by his wife, Rosalyn; a son and daughter; five grandchildren; and his brother, Harold L. Schwartz.
