There, in the center of the window in nearly five foot letters, bellowed the words: "Be Stupid." Two towering smiley faces flanked the proclamation. This provocative marquee called attention to a collection of mannequins in varying poses sporting the latest in tight-fitted Diesel jeans. The irony of the advertising sold the point. Instead of trying to look "smart" in your clothing like everyone else, it beckoned viewers to break the rules, set their own style, and just "be stupid."

Stihl selects Zeta Interactive as digital AOR

Power tool manufacturer Stihl has selected Zeta Interactive as its digital marketing agency of record. Under the terms of the year-long agreement, signed last month and announced March 22, Zeta will aid Stihl with its search and mobile marketing.

Inbox Insider: Forrester Wave report rates top ESPs

E-mail marketing is alive and well, according to Forrester Research's fourth-quarter 2009 Email Wave report, released last week. The report found that the recession and the maturation of the e-mail marketer helped the industry in 2009. "While there is still a vast need for improvement, the sophistication of e-mail marketers is increasing," Forrester said in the report.
