Direct Media to Manage Primedia Consumer Files

Direct Media Inc. announced its appointment yesterday as the sole list manager for the Primedia Consumer Media & Magazine Group publication files effective April 1.


Primedia publishes more than 150 consumer titles, including broad-reach titles such as American Baby, Automobile Magazine, Chicago, Healthy Kids, Modern Bride, New York and Soap Opera Digest.


Direct Media, Greenwich, CT, also will manage Primedia's youth entertainment magazines including 16 Magazine, Bop, Teen and Tiger Beat as well as niche enthusiast publications about sports, collectibles, crafts, history, pets and quilting.


The Primedia consumer files had been split among several list management firms.


In addition, an enhanced database of 40 million Primedia consumer names will be created, according to Direct Media.


In other Primedia news, Danbury, CT-based Statlistics took over management of the Primedia Business and Media mailing lists effective tomorrow. This ends Primedia's inhouse management of these files.
