Sir Richard Branson Keynotes DMA06

By Giselle Abramovich

Database services company infoUSA Inc. will be sponsoring the DMA06 conference keynote address of Sir Richard Branson, founder of the Virgin brand. He will deliver his speech on Oct. 16 at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco.

The DMA06 show is expected to be the largest gathering of direct, interactive and database marketers in the United States, with delegates also expected from overseas.

"Sponsoring Sir Richard Branson was a natural complement to infoUSA's conference participation since he has grown many successful companies through the effective use of direct mail and mailing lists," Vin Gupta, infoUSA chairman/CEO, said in a statement.

A billionaire, London-based Sir Richard formed Virgin Atlantic Airways in 1984, Virgin Mobile in 1999 and Virgin Blue in Australia in 2000, just to name a few of his Virgin brands. His Virgin group also encompasses the Virgin Records label, Virgin Megastore chain and Virgin Bride chain of bridal stores.
