Media auditor BPA elects new board

Media auditor BPA Worldwide has elected a new group of directors for a three-year term.

The Shelton, CT-based organization also elected Haymarket Media Inc. managing director Lisa Kirk to fill one year of an unexpired term.

The new director representing advertisers is Thomas Varney, vice president of communications at Siemens Energy & Automation, Alpharetta, GA.

New directors representing advertising agencies are Walt Cheruk, senior vice president and global media capability leader at Digitas/Publicis Modem, CT, and Gaye Sussman, founding president of ID Media, New York.

From the publishers' side, the new BPA directors are John French, CEO of Penton Media Inc., New York; Thomas M. Kuczynski, senior vice president of corporate development and planning at Nielsen Business Media, New York; John Milne, senior vice president of business and professional publishing at Rogers Publishing Ltd., Toronto, Ontario; John Poulin, executive vice president and chief financial officer of Reed Business Information, New York; and Francine Tremblay, senior vice president of consumer publications at Transcontinental Media Inc., Montreal, Quebec.

Two board members were re-elected to second terms. They are George Bournazian, vice president of account services at Business-to-Business Marketing Communications, Raleigh, NC, and Tyler Schaffer, managing partner and worldwide strategic planning director of Mindshare, New York.
