Following a successful San Francisco test of Google Shopping Express (GSX), Google today expands its same-day delivery service to Los Angeles and Manhattan.

Under the motto, “Great stores delivered to your door,” GSX will offer free delivery from a list of retail partners for the next six months. Participating retailers in Los Angeles include Guitar Center, L'Occitane, Smart & Final, Target, and Toys ‘R' Us. Among partners in New York are Babies ‘R' Us, Costco, Fairway Market, Staples, and Walgreens.

Shoppers visit the GSX website to scan eligible items at the various retailers and choose a window of time for delivery. While a la carte delivery costs $4.99, the delivery fee is inclusive of the prices listed on the site during the promotional period. Google will use the initial six months' experience to determine the eventual cost of a GSX membership in each market.

GSX offers $10 off first purchases to jump-start its debut in LA and New York.
