Gilligan formally named USPS chief postal inspector

Acting Chief Postal Inspector William Gilligan has been officially named to fill the position by US Postmaster General John E. Potter.

Gilligan was named acting chief in October and has since placed greater focus on security, including cyber security, revenue fraud and fraud prevention, said Potter, according to the USPS News Link.

Potter also named Stephen Masse as vice president, finance and planning. Masse, who joins the USPS from aerospace firm BAE, will be responsible for forward-looking financial information as well as developing a new 18-month financial plan, according to the USPS.
