acquires Eagle Direct

Multichannel agency and fulfillment house acquired direct mail and analytics provider Eagle Direct this month. Terms of the deal, finalized December 1, were not disclosed.

Some of Eagle Direct's staff members have joined the team. All Eagle Direct employees were offered employment at, but some found jobs with other companies, according to a spokesperson.

Deborah Albro, owner of Eagle Direct, has joined as VP of customer service and operations. Select customer accounts and equipment are being transferred to's facilities in Prince Frederick, MD. Eagle Direct's office will close at the end of this week.

Shawn Salta, VP of, said the acquisition has been in the works for about two months. He added the deal brings his company enhanced production capabilities.

“They're capable of multi-insert packages, which we, in the past, have shied away from because we didn't have the equipment,” he said. Salta added that Eagle Direct was also capable of producing oversized — nine-inch by 12-inch and 10-inch by 13-inch — pieces.

Salta explained that over the next 18 months, the acquisition will increase's capacity by more than 500,000 pieces per day. “We're increasing personalization with these new machines and increasing firepower from a manufacturing standpoint,” he said. will also be able to offer Eagle Direct clients a wider range of services. “We can offer everything from e-mail, social media and database marketing,” he explained. “We'll be up-selling and cross-selling printing, data segmentations and list services to enhance the relationship they have with their clients.”

In the past, has outsourced production overflow to Eagle Direct.
