Bull Acquires Postal Automation Business from Business Objects

Bull has bought the former Firstlogic Inc. postal automation software business, based in La Crosse, WI, from Business Objects Americas.

San Jose, CA-based Business Objects retains the former Firstlogic data quality business. In addition, Business Objects retains the Firstlogic Commercial Mail division, which develops software to support direct and commercial mail printers, publishers and distributors. Business Objects is headquartered in Paris, France

Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Paris-based Bull  is a leading European IT company with a particularly strong presence in the public, healthcare, finance, telecommunications, manufacturing and defense sectors. Its distribution network and business partners cover more than 60 countries worldwide.

With the completion of this acquisition, AddressVision Inc., a new wholly-owned Bull subsidiary, joins Bull's worldwide postal practice. That business is focused on providing enterprise-wide postal automation solutions to domestic and international governments and commercial delivery companies. Recent Bull wins in the postal solutions market include a 147 million Euro agreement with La Poste, the French Post Office, to deliver an information system that will run its future mail sorting machines.
