Banta Acquires Catalog Software Provider

Banta Corp., Menasha, WI, has added personalization and variable catalog pricing software to its printing services by acquiring Meadows Information Systems, Schaumburg, IL.

Meadows develops applications for QuarkXpress page layout and design software. Its AutoPrice application links mainframe pricing data to layout software for automating the insertion and updating of pricing for catalogs. Its DataMerge application will be combined with Banta's Centrus digital content management system to facilitate the production of 1-to-1 marketing materials.

Meadows also maintains an alliance with Hewlett-Packard for variable data printing that enables direct marketers to produce personalized pieces in quantities of one to 4,000.
