Direct Advantage, a cataloger that sells furniture and supplies to businesses and schools, has acquired the assets of Teachers Square, a school supply/equipment company, for an undisclosed sum.

The cataloger will discontinue the Teachers Square catalog and will incorporate the products into its existing catalogs.

"We took a look at the Teachers Square line of classroom and teaching supplies and decided it was a good extension to our existing furniture and equipment catalog," said Jeff Reddick, Direct Advantage's general manager. "With this new line we can more completely encompass the needs of our customers."

Reddick would not say how many names were in Teachers Square's database, but he said its customer base was similar to Direct Advantage's.

Teachers Square circulated an estimated 125,000 catalogs a year, while Direct Advantage circulates 1 million catalogs a year.
