Digitas cuts staff

Digitas has reduced its staff by “just 1%,” said an agency spokesperson.

The news was originally reported by AgencySpy, which put the exact number of cuts at 22, running across departments in Boston and Detroit. A Digitas spokesperson declined to comment beyond the statement it had released to AgencySpy, stating the reductions were too small to warrant further explanation.

The statement reads: “This is a result of an exhaustive assessment heading into the second half of 2012, based on our current client needs, our client's changing priorities and expectations in terms of capabilities and skill sets needed, and new business projections.”

The previous month had been an up-and-down for Digitas. Agency Draftfcb filed a lawsuit against Digitas over recruiting. However, Digitas also became eBay's AoR.
