Yahoo Income Jumps 75 Percent

Growth in search marketing and banner-based brand advertising helped Yahoo Inc. report higher results for the second quarter, it was announced yesterday.


The Sunnyvale, CA-based firm posted second-quarter operating income of $261 million, up 75 percent from $149 million in the year-ago period. Revenue on a comparable second-quarter basis jumped 51 percent to $1.25 billion.


U.S. second-quarter revenue for the online media giant grew 39 percent and international sales 84 percent.
