Skymall Sees Web Sales Soar
The company invested more than $30 million last year in information technology infrastructure and Web initiatives to shift a significant portion of business online.
"Thirty-seven percent of our core consumer business now comes via the Web," said Robert M. Worsley, founder/CEO at Skymall.
The company expects net sales for 1999 to be $61 million vs. 1998 net sales of $49.3 million. Sales attributed to its offline catalog business were essentially flat, increasing $1.5 million compared to 1998.
Skymall expects to report fourth quarter sales of about $25.7 million, a 26 percent increase over the same period in 1998.
