Responsys.com Launches E-Mail Database

Online direct marketing firm Responsys.com, Palo Alto, CA, last week launched Responsys Acquire, a database that it said contains more than 120 million opt-in e-mail addresses.

The service enables marketers to acquire customers faster and more cheaply than through traditional offline techniques, according to the company.

Responsys.com said customers using its Acquire service can choose from more than 1,700 permission-based lists. The company said its database is scored based on privacy and permission levels. Marketers can fine-tune their prospect profiles based on a range of criteria, including demographics and product preferences.

The Acquire service is integrated into Responsys Interact, enabling marketers to acquire customers quickly, retain them and build loyalty.

"Online direct marketing is fully optimized when communications are relevant to the recipient," George Wiedemann, president/CEO of Responsys.com, said in a statement.

Responsys.com said it offers both consumer and business lists from sources such as IDG, Yesmail.com, MyPoints.com, PostMasterDirect, Pen Media and NBCi.com.

The company said one of its first clients for Acquire is Escalate Inc., Redwood Shores, CA, an e-commerce service provider. Public relations firm Cohn & Wolfe, New York, also is using Responsys.com's technology to provide its clients with online direct marketing services.
