KnightRidder.com, the operator of Real Cities, a network of regional city dot-com hubs, said yesterday that it will launch a marketing campaign designed to increase awareness of the Real Cities Web sites.

The campaign, which includes television, radio, Internet advertising, print, bus wraps, direct e-mail and person-to-person marketing, will begin this week with TwinCities.com and Kentucky.com.

Visitors to Kentucky.com can register to win a Chrysler PT Cruiser. At TwinCities.com, prizes include home care services, such as lawn service and free maid service among others.

The television and radio ads will appear on major media stations in the Minneapolis/St. Paul and Kentucky areas. Other facets of the campaign will be ongoing, including Internet and direct e-mail.

The sites provide local news and information including travel, health and sports channels, video commentary, shopping, classifieds, entertainment, events, community publishing, news archives, search capabilities, Internet access and e-mail.

The campaign will move to other Real Cities networks in Miami, San Francisco, Philadelphia, Kansas City, MO, and Charlotte, NC, on June 25.
