Gains 4 Brands

Four apparel brands will feature their products on, a Web site that lets visitors build an on-screen model and "try on" clothes virtually, according to My Virtual Model Inc., which provides technology for the site.

Elisabeth by Liz Claiborne, SizeAppeal, Just My Size and Ulla Popken will be featured on the site, which specializes in apparel for plus-size women, My Virtual Model said yesterday.

Using the technology, visitors input height, weight and hairstyle information so the system can build a visual image approximating their body type and facial features. Visitors then can view the model wearing apparel offered on the site and buy the products as well.

My Virtual Model, Montreal, claims that consumers who use the technology are less likely to return items.
