Global Commerce & Communication, St. Cloud, MN, yesterday debuted NewIdeaTrade.com, a free online forum for trading intellectual property, including industrial and copyrighted property. The site, which will be supported by advertising, is designed to provide a central registry for small businesses, individuals, universities, government agencies, research institutions and investors.

Users must register to participate, but there are no membership fees. The site will post industrial property, including inventions, trademarks and patents. Members also will have the ability to post copyrighted works, including literary and audiovisual materials, for sale or license. In addition to acting as a conduit for sellers and buyers of intellectual property, the site will support a professional directory and resource center for its members.

"There is a great amount of unused or underutilized human ingenuity," said Niaz Ahmed, founder of NewIdeaTrade.com. "We link the creativity of investors, authors and artists with entrepreneurs, investors and marketers who have the financial and human resources to further develop an innovation for market introduction."
