Nick.com Expands Children's Content Offering

Nick.com, the Web site for cable channel Nickelodeon, recently added features designed to improve the amount of time spent by each viewer at the site.


The features include Internet radio, calendars, weather forecasts and encyclopedia services.


To make these applications possible, Nick.com signed deals with Internet radio services firm Sonicnet.com; educational Web site firm Britannica.com; Internet-based calendars company eCal; and online weather services firm AccuWeather.com. Financial terms of the agreements were not disclosed.


Nick.com, New York, targets the children's market with streamed cartoon videos, games, music downloads and chat rooms, among other features.
