Wireless e-mail becomes more available to businesses and consumers this week due to new product offerings from Research in Motion and Danger Inc., two key players in the space.

Blackberry wireless platform provider Research In Motion, Waterloo, Ontario, debuts hosted e-mail for small to mid-sized businesses.

The new software by Research in Motion  is designed to give smaller businesses the full Blackberry experience without having to have an IT department. The smaller firms can use hosted sites to access information on wireless devices.

Danger Inc., a Palo Alto, CA, manufacturer of the T-Mobile Sidekick and Danger software platform debuts Sidekick 3 at www.danger.com.

The wireless device operates on the existing Danger platform and includes features like the mobile phone service, a digital organizer, HTML Web browser, push e-mail and instant messaging.

Sidekick 3's latest version 3 software adds the capabilities of Bluetooth-enabled headsets, Edge connectivity and an MP3 music player.
