MailMutt Offering Marketers Category Bidding for E-Mail Search Results

EmailChannel Inc., which offers the MailMutt commercial e-mail search engine service, is now accepting real-time keyword category bidding for search results pages, offering marketers control over how information is gathered on the search engine, the company said this week.

MailMutt approves all sponsored marketing e-mails submitted to each category of the search engine, the Boca Raton, FL, company said. The results are displayed seven messages at a time, with seven sponsored messages on top of a page and seven relevant results below.

"Marketers appreciate the real-time bidding model because they can control the positioning of their messages on the search results page," Ryan Clement, EmailChannel's vice president of Internet products, said. "If they find they are slipping down the results page, they can instantly increase their bid for better or higher positioning."

Marketers only pay the bid price when the summary link of their message is clicked on and the detail of the message is viewed.

Marketers get daily position reports, which include a message's position throughout the day and at what time its position changed, Clement said. Marketers also can control how long a message will stay active and can remove it at any time.
