Home Building Associations to Share Listings

HomeBuilder.com and the Builder Homesite Consortium have formed an alliance to increase the reach of home builders' online advertising.

The multi-year agreement calls for HomeBuilder.com to undertake marketing efforts and act as the reseller for the consortium's Web site, newhomesource.com. In addition, HomeBuilder.com will be the exclusive reseller of newhomesource.com's listings to non-consortium members, and both sites will share each other's listings.

The companies said the deal will increase the exposure of new home listings online while simplifying their collection of listing data.

"Builders of all sizes have grown to accept the Internet's importance as a way to access home buyers," said Allan Merill, HomeBuilder.com's president. "HomeBuilder.com and Builder Homesite have come together in a shared vision of how builders can improve their marketing and advertising."

The Builder Homesite Consortium, Austin, TX, consists of 31 of the largest home builders in the United States. Consortium members build 225,000 homes annually.

HomeBuilder.com, Atlanta, is the official site of the National Association of Home Builders.
