Engage Signs up Auction Site uBid

Engage Inc. said online auction site uBid Inc. will use its AdBureau platform to serve advertisements.


uBid auctions more than 12,000 products in 16 different categories a day and sends more than 10 million Auction Alert e-mails a month to its 3 million registered users. The company said using Engage's AdBureau enables it to outsource its ad serving and help it better create, target and track its ads.


AdBureau offers keyword targeting capabilities, in addition to compound demographic and geo-targeting. The platform also allows advertisers to track ads "beyond the click," offers support for rich media delivery and ad delivery to e-mail and wireless devices. The platform also offers real-time campaign reporting, automatic delivery and inventory management.


Engage recently added Cross Country Automotive Services, Elsalvador.com, Enpocket, FMN Media, Great Outdoor Recreation Pages and Crimson Media to its roster of AdBureau clients.


Both Engage and uBid are majority owned by Internet incubator CMGI Inc.


Engage also said its Retail Industry Solution was used by U.K.-based Airtours Group plc's recent launch of its travel portal, MyTravel. Airtours uses the portal to promote its Airtours Holidays, Bridge, Cresta, Direct Holidays and Late Escapes brands.


The company said Airtours uses its technology to manage media assets of more than 15,000 images, 5,000 brochure descriptions, 2,500 editorial articles and 300 virtual tours.
