Cnet Buys Digital Media Services

Cnet Inc., San Francisco, said yesterday it will buy Digital Media Services Inc., in a combination of cash and stock totaling $18 million.


Digital Media services provides tools that enable manufacturers and merchants to offer product-specific promotions directly to customers before and at the point of sale both online and offline.


Cnet hopes to enhance its merchant partner's ability to reach their customers and increase demand for their products with marketing tools like promotional offers, rebates, broadband demos and other services.
