Barnes & Noble Names Digitas to Handle Multichannel Marketing
The position was occupied a year ago by advertising agency TBWA Chiat/Day, New York, and then fell vacant.
Mary Ellen Keating, senior vice president of corporate communications at Barnes & Noble, said Digitas is charged with marketing aimed at integrating the bookseller's retail stores with the BarnesandNoble.com online shop.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Also not revealed were the names of other shops that were under consideration.
Digitas, Boston, has eight offices in the United States and overseas, including a London outpost. Clients include Ann Taylor Corp., General Motors Corp., Seagram America, Federal Express, Charles Schwab, American Express and Morgan Stanley.
