Deutsche Post Unit, Yamato Team on DM Venture

DHL Global Mail and Yamato Holdings agreed to form a direct marketing joint venture in Japan beginning April 3.


DHL Global Mail is the unit of Deutsche Post World Net responsible for international mail business. Yamato is a leading private service provider for letter and parcel delivery in Japan.


The joint venture will offer national and international customers in Japan direct marketing solutions from a single source. Services range from planning a DM campaign including address management to the production of DM mailings and the delivery in Japan, all the way to response evaluation.


Yamato Holdings will have 51 percent of the shares, and DHL Global Mail will hold 49 percent. Deutsche Post World Net and Yamato have been cooperating in international mail delivery since 2004.
