Deutsche Post: No Comment on Expansion

Deutsche Post AG declined to comment yesterday on reports that it is bidding for companies in Australia and the United Kingdom, though spokespeople said the company is definitely interested in expanding in the two countries, according to news reports

Newspapers in the U.K. and Germany reported that Deutsche Post is competing with TPG NV of the Netherlands to buy DX Mail, a document exchange and specialist courier business owned by the U.K.'s Hays PLC, and that it's interested in buying Australian delivery service Star Track Express. Deutsche Post is already represented in Australia through DHL Worldwide Express and in the U.K. through Global Mail.
