D&B's BTB WorldBase Reaches 50 Million

WorldBase, the Dun & Bradstreet global business-to-business marketing database, has added 5 million business records in the last 10 months and now contains more than 50 million records from more than 200 countries.

WorldBase was formed in 1991 to serve customer with cross-border business interests, and by 1994 it contained 35 million records. The rapid growth has stemmed from improved data collection abroad and the rapid rise of business startups in the United States. To accommodate such growth, Dun & Bradstreet, Murray Hill, NJ, has introduced a new numbering system known as Mod 10+5, which has expanded the universe of its DUNS number identifier.

WorldBase is available online to D&B contract customers via D&B Desktop Solutions or via the Internet.
