Datran Media acquires Top-Colleges.com

Online marketing firm Datran Media has acquired Top-Colleges.com, formerly a division of AffiliateCrew.com, for an undisclosed amount.

New York-based Datran, an e-mail service provider, ad networking and database firm, acquired the higher education search engine in an effort to further develop its lead generation offerings.

“In challenging economic times, as well as in good ones, education is a constant,” said Alan Laifer, CEO of Datran Media. “This acquisition benefits our clients who are looking for lead generation in the education space.”

Top-Colleges.com has spent the last couple of months integrating its systems into the Datran Media backend and is now up and running under its new parent. This integration expands Datran's e-mail and database marketing to include college bound consumers.

“The better we can become with lead generation can only help with our other channels,” remarked Laifer.

At this point, Top-Colleges is keeping its offices in Salt Lake City, UT, according to Laifer.
