Worldata launches research division

Direct and interactive marketing company Worldata launched a new corporate division, Worldata Research, this week.

The company also launched a companion Web site, ListPriceIndex.com, which will be the Web presence for the research division.

Worldata Research will provide free industry research, as well as custom research services for key clientele, according to Worldata president Jay Schwedelson.

The research division will also be comprised of an advisory board comprised of “key industry leaders” to discuss the direction of the industry and provide free tools to new and veteran direct marketers, Schwedelson said.

Further, he said ListPriceIndex.com will have community aspects and eventually will feature Webcasts, videos and other interactive media, in addition to tools such as daily news, case studies, new techniques, and an ROI calculator.

“We're really looking to create an industry portal,” Schwedelson said.

The site also will feature research performed by Worldata used to comprise its List Price Index. Worldata has been publishing its quarterly List Price Index, a report of the average list rental pricing trends across the market, for 20 years.

The idea for the new research division grew from the need for an all-encompassing direct marketing informational Web presence, Schwedelson said.

“We're not afraid of providing these tools for free, because the more educated the entire industry is the better it is for us and for all industries in the space,” he said
