Nextmark data card report shows improvements
Nextmark Inc. today released its first quarter 2009 Data Card Quality Report, which featured 17 new companies that made the top 50 for their respective categories, double-digit improvements in the 500-plus category, and 11 companies that achieved a perfect score (100) on every data card.
The report breaks down list companies into four categories: those with 500 or more titles; 250 to 499 titles; 100 to 249 titles; and 50 to 99 titles.
Individual data card scores are calculated using a weighted average of 13 attributes, with an emphasis on recent updates. The scoring process is reviewed on a quarterly basis, and was refined last quarter to include the next update date as part of the algorithm, according to Nextmark.
“The reason for double-digit improvements is that some of the companies awakened to the importance of data card quality and put a full court press on the initiative,” said Chris DeMartine, Nextmark's director of business development, in an e-mail. “It's a tough economy, so things like out-of-date data cards are no longer acceptable to the list broker since managers and list owners are working hard for their business.”
The report includes a ranking of list management companies by data card quality. A list manager's score is the average of all the data card scores in their portfolio.
